SSC CGL 2026 Notification Released, Apply Online Till June 22

SSC CGL 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CGL Notification 2026 on its official website, ssc.gov.in. Along with the notification, the commission has also started the online application process for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications for various Group B and Group C posts in different Ministries, Departments, and Government of India organisations on or before June 22, 2026.

The SSC CGL 2026 recruitment drive is expected to attract nearly 25 lakh applicants this year. Through this examination, SSC aims to recruit candidates for several prestigious posts, including Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Income Tax Inspector, Central Excise Inspector, Auditor, Accountant, and Sub-Inspector in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), among others.

Important Dates

According to the official schedule, the SSC CGL 2026 notification was released on May 21, 2026, and the registration process also began on the same day. Candidates will be able to pay the application fee online till June 23, 2026.

The application correction window will remain open from June 29 to July 1, 2026. The Tier-I Computer-Based Examination is tentatively scheduled for August-September 2026, while the Tier-II exam is expected to be conducted in December 2026.

How to Apply

To apply for SSC CGL 2026, candidates must first complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process either on the official SSC website or through the mySSC mobile application. Applicants are required to verify their identity using Aadhaar authentication or by uploading another valid identity proof.

After entering personal, educational, category, and exam centre details, candidates need to upload their photograph and signature according to SSC guidelines. The application fee can be paid online through UPI, net banking, or debit/credit card. After carefully reviewing all details, candidates should submit and download the final application form for future reference.

Educational Qualifications

As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university. However, for specific posts such as Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), candidates should either have at least 60 percent marks in Mathematics in Class 12 or hold a degree in Statistics. For the Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) post, qualifications like CA, CMA, CS, or a Master’s degree in Commerce are considered desirable.

Age Limit

The age limit varies according to the post. For most vacancies, candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. For JSO posts, the upper age limit is 32 years, while for Auditor and Accountant posts, the age range is 18 to 27 years. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per government rules.

Selection Process

The SSC CGL 2026 selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. Tier I will serve as a qualifying examination used for shortlisting candidates for Tier II. The Tier-II examination will include sections on English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and post-specific subjects. Final selection will be made based on Tier-II performance, followed by document verification.
