Haryana Free-E-Scooter Scheme for Women, Know How to Apply

Haryana Free-E-Scooter: Haryana government is set to launch a Rapido-style e-scooter service in every district to promote women’s financial independence, affordable urban transport, and self-employment opportunities. The initiative will be implemented on the lines of transport models currently operating in cities like Delhi and Chandigarh.

Under the scheme, 30 young women from SC and BC categories will be selected from each district. The selected candidates will be provided with e-scooters and will receive a monthly honorarium of  12,000 Rupees to 14,000 Rupees for six months.

Women Will Operate Ride and Delivery Services

The selected women will provide ride-sharing and small parcel delivery services through a mobile application. The scheme aims to make short-distance travel cheaper, faster, and more accessible for urban residents while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for economically weaker sections.

The service is expected to benefit people traveling short distances to markets, offices, and residential areas.

Application and Selection Process Underway

District Welfare Departments have started inviting applications from eligible candidates. Applicants must possess a valid driving license to apply for the scheme.

After selection, candidates will be provided with basic operational training and guidelines before beginning the service. Officials said district-level shortlisting and verification processes are currently underway.

Government to Partner with Private Company

For implementation of the project, the Haryana government is signing an MoU with a private company that will provide the digital platform and operational support. Ride booking and payment systems will function entirely through a mobile app.

The District Welfare Department will monitor the project and ensure smooth operations through regular supervision.

Minimum 15 Rides Daily Mandatory

Under the scheme, selected women will be required to complete at least 15 rides per day. The operation will be target-based, and the e-scooter will remain with the beneficiaries for as long as they continue the service.

Officials said that if the women wish to continue the work even after six months, they will be allowed to retain the e-scooter, providing them with a long-term self-employment opportunity.

Focus on Employment and Affordable Transport

District Welfare Officer Anu Bansal said the scheme is aimed at increasing women’s participation in the workforce while also improving affordable urban mobility.

She added that the initiative would create new employment opportunities and provide city residents with a low-cost transport alternative for short-distance travel. The government has assured a transparent selection process and effective implementation of the scheme.
