
Haryana government has launched the “Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana” (Women and Adolescent Girls’ Dignity Scheme) to promote the health and hygiene of women and adolescent girls. Under this scheme, free sanitary napkins will be provided to women and adolescent girls belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (BPL).
According to the scheme, women and adolescent girls in the 10 to 45 age group are eligible to avail of its benefits. A dedicated portal has been opened for applications, and registration can be completed on it until May 20. Additionally, beneficiaries can also obtain information regarding the scheme from their nearest Anganwadi center.
Aarti Singh Rao stated that the state government is deeply committed to the health and hygiene of women. The objective of this scheme is to raise awareness regarding menstrual hygiene, dispel social misconceptions, and empower women.
