
Success Story: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 12 examination results for 2026, and Mahi Kumari from Gaya has emerged as one of the top performers by scoring an outstanding 99.8 percent in the Commerce stream. Her achievement has brought pride not only to her district but also to the entire state of Bihar.
Mahi is a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1. She secured a place among the toppers of the Patna region and is also counted among the highest scorers in the country.
Coming from a humble background, Mahi’s success story has inspired many. Her father, Manoj Kumar, runs a small clothing shop from their home, while her mother is a homemaker. The family lives in Dholakia Gali on Swarajpuri Road. Mahi is the younger of two daughters in the family.
She completed her early education at a local school in Gaya before studying at Daya Prakash Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Later, she completed her intermediate education from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1.
According to CBSE, the overall pass percentage for the 2026 Class 12 examinations stood at 85.20 percent, lower than last year’s 88.39 percent. More than 17 lakh students had registered for the examination, and over 15 lakh students passed.
The board also stated that the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system was made mandatory this year for evaluation, with a total of 98,66,222 answer sheets assessed.
