The Oldest District
Ambala is considered to be the oldest district of Haryana. It was constituted in the year 1847, during the British era, when it was part of the Punjab Province.
When the state of Haryana was formed in 1966, Ambala was incorporated into it. This district shares its borders with regions such as Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Patiala, Ropar, Sirmaur, and Solan.
